
Statutory Increases
In April the increases to the National Living Wage (NLW) and the National Minimum Wage (NMW) take effect.

The apprenticeship rate applies if either:
The apprentice is aged under 19 or they are aged 19 or over and in their first year of their apprenticeship.

In April there are also increases to the maternity pay, paternity pay and adoption pay to £148.68.
The statutory sick pay increases to £94.25.
To be entitled to these statutory payments, the employee’s average earnings must be equal to or more than the lower earnings limit which is also increasing in April from £116 to £118.
